# Trust Me Bro — identity guide

## Status and title

The project descriptor and folder identify the game as `TrustMeBro`. This identity preserves that existing working title as **TRUST ME BRO**. It does not assert that this is an approved release title. All three visual concepts use the same title; no new official name has been invented.

The selected design is **01 / Mind the gap**: a dense stacked wordmark and two displaced platforms connected by a diagonal interval. The mark refers to precision movement and unreliable footing. The two alternatives remain available as **02 / Broken baseline** and **03 / Stepped ascent**. These are visual direction names, not proposed game titles.

## Relationship to the actual game

Ceramic white wall tiles, graphite joints, fluorescent panels, rectangular pits, and green signs informed this system. The bright signal color is a design interpretation of the in-game green signage; it is not a sampled claim about an exact material color. There is no horror imagery, angry-face mascot, flame treatment, or imported horror-game identity.

Verified gameplay informing the identity: platform motion and contact shifts, checkpoints, resettable traps, and retry. The identity does not imply a release date, store listing, downloadable demo, or implemented website mini-game inside Unreal.

## Palette

| Role | Color | Application |
|---|---|---|
| Carbon | `#070809` | Main background, text on signal surfaces |
| Graphite | `#121417` | Raised surfaces and media controls |
| Ceramic | `#F5F5F2` | Main typography and white logo |
| Secondary | `#90959C` | Secondary labels on carbon |
| Signal | `#C8F36B` | Main action, focus ring, intentional emphasis |

Use signal sparingly: one focal action or phrase per composition. Do not add unrelated bright accents. Set signal text on carbon; avoid signal text on ceramic. UI concept body copy uses a lighter secondary color for legibility.

## Typography

The production logo SVGs contain outlined Arial lettering, converted with the installed Windows typeface into code-native vector paths. They have no runtime font dependency. Live-text source versions remain in `brand/editable/` for title changes. No font files are bundled or redistributed. The geometric gap icon is also vector artwork.

For body text and UI: Arial/Helvetica/sans-serif, weight 900 for display, 700 for actions, 400 for body text. The website also uses locally available Impact for the condensed hero and oversized editorial statements, with Arial Black/Arial fallbacks. This is a separate display role within the same gap-based identity; no font binaries are distributed. Large display headings use tight tracking and short lines. Small uppercase labels use generous tracking. Do not tighten body copy.

## Logo use

- `brand/logo-primary.svg`: stacked primary lockup, 780 × 540, transparent.
- `brand/logo-horizontal.svg`: horizontal navigation lockup, 560 × 76, transparent.
- `brand/wordmark.svg`: single-line title treatment, 960 × 120.
- `brand/logo-monochrome.svg`: white lockup for dark surfaces.
- `brand/logo-dark-ink.svg`: dark lockup for light surfaces.
- `brand/icon-gap.svg`: standalone mark, 96 × 74.
- `brand/favicon.svg`: 64 × 64 carbon-backed favicon.
- `brand/concept-02-broken-baseline.svg`, `brand/concept-03-stepped-ascent.svg`: retained alternatives.

Keep clear space at least the height of one platform stroke around the gap mark. Minimum practical gap-mark height: 20 px. Minimum horizontal lockup width: 170 px. Preserve the platform displacement and diagonal interval. Never stretch, rotate, add glow, bevel, or place the mark over a busy scene without a readable dark scrim.

## Supporting assets

`social-preview.svg` is an editable 1200 × 630 social composition. It is a graphic identity asset, not a gameplay screenshot. The tile-grid texture is a geometric motif derived from the environment and should be low contrast. Icons share a 48 px canvas, 2.5 px stroke, square caps, and miter joins. Available icons: jump, retry, checkpoint, pause, sound, arrow, and close.

## Motion

Keep motion geometric: a small vertical offset, a precise masked reveal, or a short fall across a gap. Use approximately 180–450 ms for interaction transitions. Avoid continual shaking, random glitches, aggressive flashes, or making navigation frustrating. Honor `prefers-reduced-motion`; static composition must remain complete.

## Review

Open `brand/index.html` to review logo concepts, variants, palette, and downloads. Open `ui/index.html` for proposed in-game visual treatments. These assets were created deterministically with SVG/HTML/CSS and an authentic game capture as the UI concept backdrop. They do not depend on generated bitmap branding or external fonts.

To regenerate the artwork, run `brand/generate_assets.py` with Python/Pillow, then run `brand/outline_logos.ps1` on Windows. The second step preserves live-text source copies in `brand/editable/` and converts production branding to paths. UI concept SVGs retain editable live text.
